1) whats your name and where are you from

Emani , Philadelphia born and raised... lived down north philly almost my entire life .

 2) whats your brand name

PISHPOSH is my brand name which is an abstract clothing where art & fashion meets, every inch is hand painted

3) what inspired u to start designing

I've always have been manipulating clothes since high school , I would go to thrift stores and paint over different things from jeans to shoes
Not only am I a designer but I'm an artist , a bestfriend of mine encouraged me to start the brand , she even gave me the name for it because she seen how talented I was.

4)whats your favorite painting you ever did

I honestly don't have a favorite , every time I create something new that becomes my favorite
And I'm always creating so that can change everyday

5) what are your goals for your brand

Goals for my brand is to continue to build, I had an opportunity to meet and pitch to FUBU's Daymond John
And I'm hoping he mentors me into going global . I want a few store/studio fronts in a few major cities.
I want PISHPOSH to continue to expand
I already ship all over the country every week and I have shipped a few orders even out of the country. The next goal is to get PISHPOSH in urban outfitters. I also am looking forward to continue to make exclusive pieces for celebrities consistently.

6) if you can give advice to up and coming designers what would it be

Advice I would give to up-and-coming designers is don't limit yourself most people I have come across that are philly natives seem to sometime set standards instead of taking the most desperate risk. I am where I am today because I took risk, I think me going out of philly to attend North Carolina A&T state university allowed me to gain great networking skills and learn how to be a peoples person that helped expand my brand. I'm down to work with anyone I come across, if a photographer hit me up asking me to work with them I would even if they had just started taking pictures the day before because once they shoot my brand their followers or supporters will then know of it if they didn't. I don't have that standard of working with top-notch people , I want to work with any and everybody because the more people that know my Brand the further the brand will go. So again my advice to up-and-coming designers is don't limit yourself, do any and everything necessary to meet your brand or whatever it is you do expand.

7) whats the biggest obstacle to you in the fashion industry

I think the biggest obstacle in the fashion industry is getting the black community to support as much as possible , i my whole entire goal with this brand is to take it to Paris fashion week we don't have any black brands they have thrived for decades consistently we have had top brands that became fads such as roca wear ,  fubu, Sean John they came and gone.
I want a black brand that stays on top like LV , FENDI , GUCCI.. etc.

8) who are your favorite designers

I'm my favorite designer , you have artist and you also have designers but you don't have designers who actually incorporate art into their fashion to create a whole entire clothing line that consistently distributes. I don't look up to any designers
I look up to artist like basquiat , Warhol, & banksy
I love messages and I incorporate deep messages within my clothing .
Art to disturb that's what I call it.

9) other than fashion what else would u consider doing

I would consider helping other brand themselves with anything they do, I'm great at marketing
I started from nothing and now I'm shipping all over the country . I've already helped a few rappers , artist and even other clothing lines. I love to guide people and teach others what I know .
